The 47. Usermeeting on Thursday 22nd March 2007
(german...)
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
The lecture given by Manfred Lipphardt, a veteran in payment transfer, was the climax.
At the Berliner Bank's branch office in Frankfurt, he characterised the electronic payment transfer
through the connection to EAF – first as digital accounting with file transfer and later as Euro
access Frankfurt – fielding ELS. Conversant technologies were used, such as: bag, messenger, billing,
short course to the central bank, billing number 7/4/8 , tripple
transfer voucher, change to EAF2, a clearly defined reference number, EURO-implementation, Target.

Memories of Mr. Lambrecht and Mr. Henkel as well as the first User meeting at Metzler were awoken.
The 1990 hope "return to normality after the connection to EAF" was not achieved. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The process continues speeding up. The last cause for messengers in payment transfer extinquishes
with ISE by september 2007. Target just like EAF also becomes its successor with Target2.

Would this restore normality in payment transfer? Scarcely, then SEPA is in view. But one should
note: "SEPA is more than merely XML", warns Armin Gerhardt. There shall be a new, a global format,
in which local information should be transmitted. Topics like character sets and languages are still
not out of discussion. SEPA would start with pension payments for unskilled employees.

Our special guest was Mr. Holzbauer from Depfa. He reported about an unannounced Backup test at
EFiS office (Goethestraße). It was all over after 30 minutes – success at all fronts. The journey was,
in this case, longer than the whole test.

For this reason, a "stand alone" PC with own ISDN
pipeline was installed to absorb scenarios like "personal network breakdown" or related access
problems. The subject Backup or new-german Continuity is gaining importance with the upcomings topics.
A payment transfer workshop (ZV-Wochen) is consequently motivated for this topic.
